About the Telecommunications Authority

The Telecommunications Authority is a Greenlandic authority working for efficient use of society's resources in the field of telecommunications and radio. We supervise the Telecommunications Act, issue radio licences and contribute professional expertise to Naalakkersuisut.

Frequency management

We manage Greenland's radio frequencies and ensure efficient use of the frequency spectrum for maritime, aviation and land mobile communication.

Callsigns & MMSI

We assign callsigns and MMSI numbers to vessels, aircraft and land stations, as required for distress and safety communication.

Expeditions

We issue temporary radio licences for scientific and recreational expeditions in Greenland and Arctic waters.

Du kan ansøge om kaldesignal og MMSI-nummer via vores selvbetjeningsportal. Udfyld ansøgningsformularen med oplysninger om dit skib, og betal det tilhørende gebyr. Telestyrelsen behandler din ansøgning og udsteder kaldesignalet.

Gebyrerne varierer afhængigt af tilladelsestypen. For landmobile radiotjenester betales et årligt gebyr på 185 kr. pr. 25 kHz. Kontakt Telestyrelsen for specifikke priser vedrørende maritime, luftfarts- eller andre tilladelser.

Fornyelse af GOC-certifikat kræver dokumentation for relevant tjeneste inden for de seneste 5 år. ROC-certifikater fornyes ved ansøgning. SRC- og LRC-certifikater har ubegrænset gyldighed. Kontakt Telestyrelsen for at indlede fornyelsesprocessen.

Ja, en PLB skal altid registreres hos Telestyrelsen. Hvis din PLB bruges om bord på et skib, skal den registreres med skibets MMSI-nummer. Korrekt registrering sikrer, at redningsmyndighederne hurtigt kan identificere dig i en nødsituation.
